Welcome

Welcome to St. Edwards Lodge No 966 website

St. Edwards Lodge is a modern masonic lodge meeting nine times per year at our Masonic Hall in King Street, Leek in North Staffordshire. The lodge has 35 subscribing members and a number of honorary members and meets on the last Thursday of the Month from September to May inclusive, the January meeting being the meeting when the new Worshipful Master is installed for the following year.

The lodge has men from many walks of life all meeting together for the purpose of maintaining the historic rituals which teach, brotherly love (friendship, tolerance and respect for others), relief (charity, mason’s give money to many charities both local, reginal, national and worldwide) and truth (high standards in everything we do). The friendships very often extend beyond the lodge with members meeting for social occasions sometimes with wives and partners; for example, the annual curry night and Italian meal. Whilst we all take our freemasonry seriously, we also take enjoying ourselves seriously too.

St. Edwards Lodge is registered under the United Grand Lodge of England and practices the three Masonic Degrees of; Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft and Master Mason. On joining a member is referred to as ‘brother’ and once he has attained the third degree that of Master Mason he can progress through the various office’s all the way to Master of the lodge and beyond.

Freemasonry is open to any man who is of good standing and honest (there are lady masons who have their own structure and administration). If you have an interest the lodge can be contacted for an informal chat (see the contact page).
